INGREDIENTS
- 100 g (1/2 cup) cold butter
- 50 g (1 ¾ oz) soft marzipan paste
- 100 g (1/2 cup) sugar
- 200 g (1 1/3 cups) wheat flour
- ½ tsp cinnamon powder
Also
- butter for greasing
- icing sugar for dusting, to taste
HOW TO MAKE IT
- Peel the apples, cut them into quarters and remove the core. Cut the apple quarters in half lengthwise again and cut into equal-sized pieces. Mix with currants or raisins, lemon juice, vanilla sugar and cinnamon and set aside.
- Preheat the oven to 180 °C top and bottom heat (160 °C fan). Thinly grease the ZWILLING FRESH & SAVE Gratin Dish with butter.
- Knead the butter, marzipan, sugar, flour and cinnamon into even crumbles.
- Place the apples in the Gratin Dish and spread the crumbles over them.
- Place the Gratin Dish on the rack in the lower third of the oven and bake the crumble for approx. 25-30 minutes. Remove, dust with icing sugar as desired and enjoy while still warm.Serve with freshly whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
